1. CROCHET CORDS BY MONOMEY STUDIO
This is my choice number 1 for all my rugs. For them to turn out as perfect as I want, I picked special crochet cord from Monomey Studio on Etsy here.
You will need either 7 bobbins 200 metres each or 14 bobbins 100 metres each.
Main features of this cord:
> 6 mm thick
> polyester
> best with 7 mm crochet hook
> ships Worldwide
> available in different size cones.
> perfect for rugs, placemats, tote bags
Why I love this cord the most?
Because my rugs stay in shape after many years, it is pleasant to work with and very easy to care (machine washable). Very high quality. And I tried many others, believe me, this one is on the top!
The link for the color I used for my main original rug (Ivory) is here.

4. XKDOUS NATURAL COTTON ROPE
6 mm thick. Twisted.
Natural cotton rope.
Also available in lots of bright colors.
You will need 14 bobbins
(they are 109 yards each).
5. T-SHIRT YARN
Crocheting with cord is pretty hard as you need to hold the hook quite tight and the very beginning is especially tough for those who haven't crocheted much with cord before.
But no sadness here at all - there is an alternative option. T-shirt yarn is perfect to replace usual cord and have more pleasurable and easier time when crocheting rugs.
You may try some from Craft Confetti on Etsy as they have truly lovely colors. Here is the link. Or you can browse more options on Etsy and pick something else. Click here for the general link.
To be honest, I haven't crocheted my full rug in this type of yarn yet, so please pardon, I will only guess the required quantity of this t-shirt yarn. It should be around 15 cakes or bobbins 100 metres each. If you end up with the left over, consider making some of the matching placemats PETUNIA. Written pattern here. Or watch the tutorial video on my Youtube channel here.
If you prefer shopping yarn on Amazon, here is the general link for T-shirt yarns.
